There are hundreds of thousands acarines in the bed you sleep in. There are actually two basic groups: those who comsume the tiny pieces of dead human skin, and those who feast on the first group. If the population of the first group is not large enough the second type of acarines start to engage in canibalism.

A newborn acari has six legs and it later develops two more. Thier size is about half a millimiter.

There was a guy in USA who was so obsessed with acarines that he slept on his back all the time and was covering his testicles while asleep with his hands. He attended numerous doctors and exterminators but the acarines remained in his environment. The only asylum he found was high in the mountains 4000 meters abov sea-level where there was eventually no acarines.

A dot is a zero dimensional object, or 0D.

A line is a 1D object. A 1D object is composed of 0D objects for its sides.

A square is a 2D object. A 2D object is composed of 1D objects for its sides.

A cube is a 3D object. A 3D object is composed of 2D sides. The cube in the pic is not a "true" 3D object, rather it is only a 2D representation or drawing. "True" cubes or 3D objects are the ones you can interact with IRL like a box you're holding. Also, keep in mind what a 3D object looks like when rotated, this will be important later.

Following this logic, it is deducted that:
>Y Dimensional Object is composed of X Dimensional Objects for its sides. Where X is the previous dimension to Y.

Keep this in mind.

This is a Tesseract, a 4D object. A 4D object is composed if 3D sides. This pic isn't a “true” 4D object, rather it is only a 3D representation. It is animated as to show how a Tesseract will look like to our 3D eyes when it is rotated. And that's only how we understand it. We have to be in the 4th dimension to really see what it looks like and feel it.

We, as 3D beings, cannot and will never experience first-hand what a “true” 4D object looks and feels like. We will never understand the 4th dimension first-hand. A 2D being will never understand what the 3D concepts of “up” and “down” are. Similarly, a 1D being will never understand what the 2D concepts of “left” and “right” are.

Going back to the logic, it is mathematically proven that and infinite number of higher dimensions exists. A 5D object is composed of 4D sides. A 6D object is composed of 5D sides. A 1,000D object is composed of 999D sides. And so on.

Each higher dimension is beyond the understanding of the previous dimension.

If the 4th dimension is already way beyond us 3D beings' understanding, how do you think the 1,000,000,000,000th dimension will look like to us? Or the 1,000,000,000,000,000th dimension?

Time is a different dimension.

What >>409>>410 mentioned are spatial dimensions, and there is such a thing as a temporal dimension.

To be specific, we live in a 3 Spatial Dimension, and 1 Temporal Dimension or 3SD 1TD. This means (as far as we currently know) we can only travel through one direction in time, which is forward.

So a dimension that allows forward and backward travel through time is a 2 temporal dimension. What I'm curious is how a 3 temporal dimension works, if its even possible. Forward, back, and BEYOND time??
¨ No. 470
>>469
Wait, 1 Spatial Dimension would allow travel forwards and backwards. Why would 1 Temporal Dimension only allow travel forwards?
¨ No. 471
>>470
1D (spatial) imples that it is only a point. Also, as 1D is a point, it has no area and cannot be measured. Can you even measure the area of a point? How can you travel in 1D?

One temporal dimension only means that time can only flow forward, and not backward. You CANNOT travel back in time. You can however, travel into the future.
¨ No. 472

Spatial Dimension refers to SPACE i.e. the area around you. Temporal Dimension refers to TIME. Two different things.
¨ No. 473
>>471
Nope, a point is zero-dimensional. 1D has length. The 1D object you describe as extending in only one direction is called a ray. There's also this 1D object called a line. It extends infinitely in two opposite directions.

When you are talking about measuring the area, you are referring to 2D objects already.

>>472
Qualify the difference. We're discussing "traveling" within a one-dimensional realm. If in a 1D spatial realm, we can "move" forward and backward, and in a 1D temporal realm we can "move" only forward, why is there such a difference?
¨ No. 474
>>473
>why is there such a difference?

I actually don't know. Point taken. Maybe its a matter of definition? That the definition of "dimension" in temporal dimension is different from spatial dimension? I dunno...

I have one.. This is Henrietta Lacks. A true supergirl that gave us the HeLa cells aka immortal cells. Typically, human cells in test tubes die off a few days after it is removed from the body. Her cells was removed 50 yrs ago and it is still alive and multiplying today. Because of her specimen, scientists were able to study and find cure to many illnesses like polio and learn many things like cloning. Her cell can be found in just about any major research labs in the world. The twist is, she never knew and was never asked for permission to use her body for such an important contribution before she died.

It is unfortunate then that Dimensions only go so far as 10th or 11th if you're feeling generous with your math.

>>473
>>474

Uh, I'm not reading all of your shit since hindi pa ako natutulog but there seems to be confusion with Dimensions relating to Time?

Dimensions are a plane of existence (or non-existence if you want to be technical about it) unto themselves and separate from each numbered iteration.

4th is indeed Time but we can only perceive it moving forward. Some physicist postulates that the 4th is Time Forward while 5th is Time Backward but the accepted model is that 4th is just TIME itself (Einstein and friends, etc.)

to be continued...
¨ No. 561
>>560
To answer your question "What's up with 3D moving backward and forward while 4D is just forward?"

There in comes my previous point. 3D is not just some simple 1D + 2D. 3D IS 3D, hence by it's very definition, a particle can move anywhere it wants. 4D is just forward because us mere 3D folk can only perceive Forward Time.

>>410 is wrong in that 4th is beyond us but right in that we simple mortal folk can never understand what the fuck 5th dimension is.

10th-11th dimension is mathematically proven in String Theory but will probably never be proven scientifically.

So it's all about perception? I guess that's the human limitation, we can't prove anything beyond what we perceive about time.
