San Miguel is a moral case. I don't want to drink a beer from a company that hijacks the prosperity of the masses for personal profit.

In b4 Red Horse.

Rustan's Supermarket stocks Kapuziner Weißbier for a fairly affordable price. 69 PHP for a 500ml can.

They also have a selection from Rogue Ales but those are very expensive. 200++ PHP for a bottle. Very very good though.

San Miguel's Cerveza Negra sometimes gets hard to find but its one of the better offerings from San Mig.

Try going Beers Paradise in Makati... and it doesn't have to be one... and try local 'indie' brews in selected bars also in Makati and Malate... Good luck finding them...

Local indie brews? Such things exist?

I haven't tried going to Beers Paradise yet. Is it expensive as I think?

Yes, local indie brews exist, even here in Northern Mindanao we have local brews... have you heard of SUKANG PINAKURAT? I'm currently developing a brew for local marketing by the end of the year with one of the owners, we are currently finishing a stock of sour ale but nothing commercial yet... he also told me of local brews in Malate but I have yet to sample...

Yup, BP is way expensive... don't go unless you really want to, leaves a hole in your pocket but its only if you really want to... price ranges from Php 200 to a couple of thousand pesos for a bottle... I personally like the cherry ales for Sweden...

No. What is it?

Fuck this! Where have indie brews been since I was in my short stay in the country! I was willing to patronize the FUCK OUT OF YOU if you had stuff as great as Sam Adams.

In pango land, cerveza negra. Cheapest alternative to dark ale and fresh too, as buying guiness from a can is a piss poor alternative. Back in the Amerikkka, I've dabbled in Sam Adams and Magic Hat (http://www.magichat.net/elixirs/9).

Anyone tried that new Manila Beer?

The bottle is hilarious. It resembles an energy drink.

I tried Manila Beer. Tastes like Colt 45. I hate Colt 45.
