I'll be honest. Followed a recipe by Alton Brown on Good Eats and made KFC and MAX shit taste like it was worthy for rich people. Ate it with orange soda but no watermelon sadly.

Is there any possibility you can post that here OP so we could all enjoy it?

The Fried Chicken Episode of Good Eats

Sadly I couldn't follow the recipe completely since some of the ingredients would be rather hard to obtain (Hungarian paprika, Kosher salt) so I substituted and got the similar effect.

The key would be the buttermilk. I've tried making my own with buying milk and putting vinegar in it but I think a more thickened mixture (using yogurt) would be better.

Also in the YT video he uses a iron cast frying pan which apparently is a better apparatus for cooking the chicken. Made do with what I had but would honestly pay for the actual thing if I can.

And a couple of other things, cook the chicken at 350 degrees Farenheit for a better crispiness.

You know, these days KFC seems to be putting out undersized and not-all-that-good pieces of fried chicken.

I did a side by side comparison and liked Jolibee's Chickenjoy a lot more.

Something must have gone terribly wrong for the colonel.

Along Dapitan, two blocks away opposite the flow of traffic from the the McDonald's, there's a little store there that sells deep fried chicken... If you like your chicken on the salty side and like your sauce somewhat sweet, I suggest you give it a try... A friend told me where to buy it...

>>330 I'm kinda familiar with Bugong, since I tasted their chicken. For me, roasted is better.

I just saw a Bugong here in Makati. The number of people lining up at times is ridiculous. A mix of locals and foreigners. Bugong must be doing something right.

Roasted is a different 'animal' from deep fried or even PAN fried chicken. So syempre taste every type of roasted chicken and the falvor would be just as varied.

OP's recipe is pan fried, which in a sense is a bit different from deep fried, especially if someone else prepared it.
