OP, there are lots of careers that don't require a college degree but why limit yourself? Having a college degree makes you eligible to BOTH careers that require a degree and careers that don't.

Scenario A: no degree

Although I don't personally agree with it, the fact that our society demands most workers to have college degrees is undeniable, unchangeable (for now) and is just plain common sense.

A scrub, on the other hand, whines about unfair facts of life, rails on people for doing something that he doesn't agree with, or keeps proposing solutions to "problems" but does nothing to change the system.

Also, very optimistic but fails to recognize the problem is in fact himself.

If you're not Bill Gates or Steve Jobs or Kevin Rose, which means you can't make a decent life for yourself without getting a college degree, then get a degree. It's that simple. It increases opportunity for upward mobility.
